Often, organizations choose to keep their computers turned on all night for a variety of reasons including:

the need to push updates/patches
run critical maintenace tasks – scans/backups
to make the system available to employees as soon as they walk in

In the process, large amount of energy is wasted.

Wake-on-LAN integration in Enpower allows organizations to wake systems in their network in a flexible manner; thus avoiding the need to keep systems on all the time – cutting down operating costs without affecting system availability.

It’s been a great ride working on a product through school and trying to take it commercial fruition after graduating. It brings with it a sea of change, since your grades now count for nothing and the jury isn’t your favourite Professor, it’s a market that’s skeptical more often than not. In retrospect (it’s been a just a year, so there’s not too much to reflect on), starting up wasn’t too hard a decision, but you do pause to catch your breath before burning your bridges. We’re just glad we didn’t wait too long.

We’re on the cusp of the launch of version 1 of Enpower today, with a promising web-based initiative on the cards, a second offering waiting in the ranks, and the second version of the product deep into development. And we’re looking forward to some great years ahead that will be sprinkled, hopefully, with successes that mean much more than the relics that lie in our trophy case.
